A Victoria Police officer has had his licence suspended after failing a random breath test in Melbourne.
A police spokesperson said the off-duty sergeant from the eastern region was allegedly detected drink driving in Lilyfield on Friday night.
According to police the male officer, 40, entered a booze bus location on Swansea Road at about 8.30pm and returned a positive preliminary breath test.
“He underwent an evidentiary breath test, returning an alleged reading of .079,” the police spokesperson said.
“He received an infringement notice for the drink driving offence and his licence has been suspended for six months.”
