A paedophile New South Wales Police officer will walk out of jail on parole in just six months for requesting custom-made child abuse material featuring baby girls.
Mitchell Lucock, 38, who was a senior constable in Nyngan in central New South Wales before his arrest, pleaded guilty to five counts of soliciting child abuse material and three counts of transmitting child abuse material and was sentenced in Parramatta District Court on Monday.
Judge Karen Robinson described Lucock’s conversations on Snapchat and Telegram as “highly depraved” in handing down her sentence of 18 months with a six-month non-parole period followed by good behaviour and rehabilitation sessions, ABC News reported.
The court heard the Lucock, who has no children, described himself as a “dirty paedo dad” to strangers online, and in one exchange told a woman he had underage fantasies and offered to pay her for custom videos.
“Would you say ages to me?” he asked the woman.
“I want to be super taboo thinking about baby and toddler girls.”
While talking with undercover Australian Federal Police officers Lucock said he wanted to trade child abuse material, and when asked what he was into replied: “As young as possible, hardcore, no limit. When I say young as possible, babies and toddlers too.”
Lucock was arrested at work at Nyngan Police Station, and while the apps he used had been deleted his conversations were recovered.
But the images and videos he was discussing had expired, and he was not found in possession of child abuse material.
His conviction comes just weeks after a senior Victoria Police officer who described himself as a “proud pedo” pleaded guilty to seven child abuse-related offences. He is yet to be sentenced.
In January a paedophile former South Australia Police officer was sentenced to four years’ jail with a 2.5-year non-parole period for sexually abusing his 15-year-old stepdaughter.
And in December a homosexual paedophile former NSW Police officer was jailed for just 1.5 years for raping a 14-year-old boy.
