Hunt for Pacific Islanders who bashed and robbed revellers at bush dance party near Canberra

Police are hunting a gang of Pacific Islanders after multiple people were bashed and robbed at a bush dance party near Canberra.

Australian Capital Territory Policing said the series of assaults and robberies took place at an event near the Sutton Road in Kowen Forest early on Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police a group of Pacific Islander men dressed in black arrived in a silver van before demanding cash and valuables from revellers and leaving in the same vehicle.

“Multiple robbery and assault victims were identified by police and two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries,” police said on Sunday.

“ACT Policing is seeking any information from party goers who have who have not already provided their details and from anyone who saw a silver van in the area prior to, or after, 2.45am near Sutton Road.”

Witnesses and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
