Police in Melbourne are looking for two Indian scammers who stole $41,000 from their female victim last month.
Victoria Police said offenders scammed a woman via an online payment before going to her address in St Albans and stealing her credit card on December 3.
The next day they bought mobile phones and jewellery worth $41,000 from stories in the Brunswick area.
Police have now released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
“The first male is perceived to be Indian, in his mid 30s, of large build and has a two-stripe tattoo on his right forearm. He was wearing a green t-shirt, black track pants and grey Polo cap,” police said.
“The second male is perceived to be Indian, also in his mid 30s and of thin build. He was wearing a black and white floral shirt, black pants and white sandals.”
The search for the scammers comes a week after three Indian fraudsters were sentenced in Sydney for a bungled attempt to steal $21 million from the National Australia Bank.
In November last year an Indian scammer stole $10,000 from a 94-year-old Melbourne man, and two months before that an Indian scammer stole $15,000 from an elderly woman in Perth.
