An African rapper is facing new charges over the alleged gape rape of a woman at a Sydney house party.
Ghana-born Emmanuel Amankwah, 31, who is on bail after facing court last year over the alleged attack, was on March 3 charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and one count of sexual touching without consent, The Daily Telegraph reported.
Co-accused Weheliye Ahmed Keynan, 38, and Anwar Joseph, 28, have also both been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company, while Joseph is facing an additional three counts of sexual touching without consent.
Previous charges laid against the trio of aggravated sexual assault in company and inflicting actual bodily harm are set to be withdrawn.
All will remain on bail until their next court appearance on May 5.
According to court documents. the alleged victim went clubbing with a group in Kings Cross, before moving on to the Sofitel hotel in Darling Harbour and then a house party in October 2022.
Police allege the woman was sexually assaulted after waking up on top of Joseph with Keynan and Amankwah in the room.
Her father then picked her up from a second house party, and two weeks after that she told staff at a clinic what allegedly happened.
She then made a police report last year.
Amankwah, who has no criminal record, moved to Sydney at age 12 and has performed at major music festivals in Australia and worldwide.
