US President Joe Biden‘s withdrawal letter has sparked concerns due to a signature that looks starkly different, the lack of a presidential seal, and no other evidence of authenticity.
Mr Biden, 81, dropped out of the 2024 presidential race in unprecedented fashion on Sunday, sharing the news via letter on X.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” the letter read.

Mr Biden, who is isolating in Delaware with Covid-19, later posted again to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat nominee.
But many Americans asked why Mr Biden had not formally addressed the nation to make the announcement, and noted the signature on the letter was significantly different to those appearing on recent executive orders.
At first I didn’t think much of this but upon further review, HOLY SH*T.
This was a legit coup today. It’s not his signature. This is a blatant criminal forgery and a coup.
Why no word from Biden himself?

Sunday’s signature has an underline while others don’t, and several other features are different, causing journalist Owen Shroyer to declare: “It’s not his signature. This is a blatant criminal forgery and a coup.
“Why no word from Biden himself? In the fog of the assassination attempt, the Democrats initiated a coup.”
Republican congressman Mike Collins also had concerns about the announcement, writing on X: “Why is the White House Chief of Staff calling cabinet officials about this purported decision by Biden, and not Biden himself?
“This looks like a bloodless coup. Does the president know he’s not running for election? Does he know he’s still running the country?
“Has anyone even seen him today?”

Jordan Schachtel, publisher of The Dossier, was among other journalists pointing out unusual aspects of the letter.
“Biden’s signature looks very faded like it was photocopied or he was working with an old pen,” he wrote on X.
“Biden is still MIA. Zero photo or video evidence has been released to confirm he was the one who signed the doc, which was drafted on non-official letterhead.”

He later asked: “Why has zero photo/video evidence emerged of Joe Biden signing the letter that was posted to X today?
“How do we know that Joe Biden signed the letter? How do we know that he did so without coercion? Basic questions here!”
Businessman and New Jersey Trump Delegate Mike Crispi compared the Biden’s letter to Nixon’s when he resigned, noting the lack of a presidential seal on Sunday’s.
“Even Nixon’s resignation letter had the Presidential seal on it,” he wrote.
“Why doesn’t Biden’s? Why’s the signature different than all of his previous letters ever signed? Why is Biden’s schedule empty?
“Something strange is going on here. This wasn’t Biden’s choice whatsoever.”
Republican nominee Donald Trump also blasted Mr Biden in a Truth Social post after the announcement.
“Who is running our Country right now? It’s not Crooked Joe, he has no idea where he is. If he can’t run for office, he can’t run our Country!!!” Mr Trump wrote.
