Homosexual Egyptian Muslim jailed for the brutal rape and sexual assault of two Norwegian men

A homosexual Egyptian Muslim immigrant has been jailed for raping a Norwegian man in his home and sexually assaulting another in a public park in the city of Bergen.

The 30-year-old was last week sentenced to four years and eight months in prison in Norway for the sexual assaults, and ordered to pay his victims compensation of $11,800 and $17,300, Document reported.

The Egyptian, who is unemployed and does not have permanent residency, fled to France in September last year before his case was due in court, but was arrested and extradited back to Norway to face trial.

His first attack took place in the Bergen city centre in 2019 where he propositioned a stranger for sex. After his victim rejected his advances and ran into some bushes to hide, the Muslim immigrant followed him, pushed him to the ground and attempted to sexually assault him.

The victim called for help and managed to break free before reporting the attack to police, who dropped the case two months later.

But two and a half years later in 2022 police got a DNA match to that assault after another Norwegian was raped in the Egyptian’s apartment.

The second victim, who was in Bergen for work, was drunk and upset over a recent break-up with his girlfriend and mother of his child, and could not find his accommodation since he had lost his mobile phone.

The Egyptian lured the drunk man to his home by offering to help him charge his device. Once there he overpowered his victim and raped him. The details of both assaults are too graphic to publish.

After being confronted with the DNA evidence he still denied the first attempted rape and claimed he was not homosexual, but police said the contents of his mobile phone showed he was lying, and that CCTV footage backed up the victim’s account of the attack.

The Egyptian also denied committing the second rape, telling police that he refused to have sex with the Norwegian because it was Ramadan, but the court rejected his excuse since Ramadan had ended a week before the attack.

It is unclear whether he will be deported after serving his sentence.

In 2016 a Norwegian man who was raped by a Somalian immigrant said he felt “guilty” when his attacker was deported after serving four years in jail.

Karsten Nordal Hauken, a self-described feminist and “anti-racist”, said he first cried and felt “relief and joy” when told about the deportation.

“But I also got a strong sense of guilt and responsibility,” he said.

“I was the reason why he should not be left in Norway, but rather to face a very uncertain future in Somalia.

“He had already served his sentence in prison. Should he now be punished again? And this time much harder?”

The news comes after it was revealed that 100% of the serious sexual assaults in Frankfurt, Germany, last year were committed by immigrants, along with 77% of the solved rapes in Paris in 2023.
