A Middle Eastern doctor has been charged with raping one male patient and sexually abusing an intellectually disabled man in western Sydney.
GP Semir Farhan, 42, was arrested at his home in Casula on Sunday and taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault – victim under authority of offender, and 13 counts of aggravated sexual touching.
Police allege Farhan indecently assaulted a 45-year-old man during multiple consultations at a medical centre in Auburn, and a medical centre in Narellan.
It is also alleged that Farhan had sexual intercourse with a 47-year-old male patient without his consent at a medical centre in Auburn.
His case was Liverpool Local Court on Monday where he did not enter a plea or apply for bail, and did not come up from the cells, 7 News reported.
NSW Police Superintendent Robert Toynton said Auburn police were now calling for other potential victims to come forward.
“If you have been touched inappropriately in Auburn or at Narellan, we want to speak to you,” he said.
Farhan was remanded in custody to face Burwood Local Court on April 17.
