Nationalist activists dressed all in black with a banner reading “mass deportations now” have held an anti-immigration protest in the centre of Adelaide.
The large group of protesters, who are members of the South Australia chapter of right-wing activist group the National Socialist Network (NSN), unfurled the banner on a bridge over a main road on Saturday.
Social media users welcomed the protest, with one saying: “Great to see. People that actually care for their country and their people. These Aussies are patriots.”
“Look at these men being the only ones willing to stand up for Australian families,” said another X user.
“A great message,” said another. Australia would be a much nicer place to live if that happened.
The demonstration comes after Australia allowed in more than 1.4 million immigrants in just two years, which is more than the population of Adelaide at the time of the 2021 Census.
The South Australian capital has been wracked with African gang violence in recent months, with a special taskforce making arrests over a series of alleged home invasions, shootings, machete attacks and violent brawls in the CBD.
The NSN also held a “mass deportations now” rally in the centre of Melbourne in July, and Canadian nationalists held a similar banner during two different demonstrations in Ontario in November and December.
Members of the same group also staged a counter-protest against “refugees” demanding permanent visas in Adelaide in September, and demonstrated against the sexualisation of children at a drag queen story hour event with a banner reading “destroy paedo freaks” in July.
