Hunt for black sex attacker targeting elderly women in Sydney break-ins

Police are hunting for a dark-skinned man responsible for at least five break-ins in western Sydney, including two which included sex attacks against elderly women.

NSW Police said the man broke into five homes on Elsinore Street, Grace Crescent, Davies Road, and Norma Place in Merrylands between 4am and 6.20am on Thursday morning.

During one of the break and enters he drew a knife and attempted to sexually assault a woman in her 80s, police said, before going on to sexually touch another woman in her 80s at a second home.

“The man is described as being tall and of slender build with dark skin, aged in his 20s and softly spoken,” police said.

“The man may have sustained a slight injury that is bleeding.”

The attacks are being investigated by the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad with local detectives under Strike Force Beigy.

Detectives encourage anyone who lives in that area to contact police if their properties have been broken into even if nothing has been stolen.
