Queen Elizabeth II believed that every Israeli “was either a terrorist or a son of a terrorist”, according to former Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
“The relationship between us and Queen Elizabeth was a little bit difficult, because she believed that every one of us was either a terrorist or a son of a terrorist,” Rivlin told the British outlet Jewish News over the weekend.
“She refused to accept any Israeli official into (Buckingham) Palace, apart from international occasions,” he insisted.
“By comparison, he revealed King Charles III was always ‘so friendly’.”
“Although [Queen Elizabeth] paid official visits to dozens of countries throughout her tenure, she never visited Israel,” the Times of Israel noted.
Charles made headlines in 2017 after a letter he wrote from 1986 was released wherein he sympathized with the Arabs and lamented that an “influx of foreign, European Jews” to Israel “has helped to cause great problems”.
“I know there are so many complex issues, but how can there ever be an end to terrorism unless the causes are eliminated?” the then-Prince said.
“Surely some US president has to have the courage to stand up and take on the Jewish lobby in the US?” he added.
“I must be naïve, I suppose!”
