An elderly woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries after a unprovoked attack outside a fast food restaurant in Perth.
The 84-year-old was approached by an unknown woman knocked to the ground in a car park near a Subway restaurant in Midland, in the city’s east, at 12.35pm on Saturday, Western Australia Police said.
The elderly woman suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
She was due to undergo surgery on Sunday night.
Detectives spent Sunday looking for CCTV and released images of a woman they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
“She is described as approximately 160cm tall, medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes,” police said in a statement.
“She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.”
