Influential conservative media journalist slammed for vaccine mandate hypocrisy: ‘She’s never apologised’

A filmmaker has revealed influential journalist and TV presenter Sharri Markson asked him to take down a video showing how she went from pushing for Covid vaccine mandates to reporting on injuries caused by the Big Pharma products.

Nathan Livingstone from MilkBarTV on Friday called out Australia’s conservative media for failing to acknowledge the role they played in allowing the federal and state governments to impose human rights-violating Covid lockdowns, restrictions and vaccine mandates for more than two years.

He shared a compilation video comparing clips of Markson, who hosts her own show called Sharri on Sky News Australia, calling for vaccine mandates in 2021 and then reporting this week on the findings of a recent Covid inquiry.

It followed another viral video made by Mr Livingstone in April 2023 juxtaposing a TV segment where Ms Markson demonised unvaccinated people in 2021 with her coverage of a story on vaccine-injured Australians waiting for compensation.

“I’ve made several videos highlighting that Sharri Markson was one of the biggest cheerleaders of vaccine mandates even going so far as to say she didn’t want to ‘breathe in the same air’ as an unvaccinated person,” Mr Livingstone wrote.

“After championing mandates she then pivoted and began reporting on vaccine injured people. When I made a video pointing out the hypocrisy of this she DM’d me asking me to take the video down.”

He then shared screenshots of a message from Markson claiming she was receiving death threats due to the 2023 video, and his own response where he told her she should consider apologising for her actions during the pandemic. Markson did not reply and has since blocked Mr Livingstone.

“Sharri never replied, has never acknowledged or apologised for her original position on mandates despite now calling for the same from others,” he said in another post.

The filmmaker told Noticer News he wanted the corporate media to take responsibility for their failures during the pandemic in light of the inquiry which found Australians have lost trust in government due to Covid restriction and vaccine mandate overreach.

“I do believe as the corporate press reports on the Covid inquiry and erosion of trust between the people and government they need to look at themselves and their own failures. Many of which are the same: stoking fear, corruption, and inability to acknowledge when they’ve got things wrong,” he said.

“And if you ask most people trust is as low as ever in the mainstream media. Which is partly why citizen journalism/new media exploded during Covid.”

Friday’s video also featured Sky News host Caleb Bond, who responded to Mr Livingstone by saying: “I never backed vaccine mandates and was a consistent critic of restrictions (as your video notes) but I am more than happy to concede I didn’t get everything right.”

Markson is the daughter of celebrity agent Max Markson, went to the exclusive Ascham School in Sydney, has worked for News Corp publications and media outlets since 2014, and wrote a book on the origins of Covid-19.

Since October 7 her evening show has been heavily focused on the conflict in Gaza, and she recently travelled to Israel for the anniversary of the Hamas terror attacks. While there she had a private meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which she said involved a discussion about anti-Semitism in Australia.

Mr Netanyahu also presided over Israel’s deal with Pfizer and resulting mass vaccination program and vaccine passport system, and has the syringe he was vaccinated with on display in his office.

After her trip Markson told her former employer The Daily Telegraph: “It’s physically safer in Australia than it is in Israel – Israel is under attack every day – but as a Jew you feel safer in Israel.”
