It’s a beautiful thing, the destruction of words
The face in question belongs to Julie Inman Grant, Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, who makes almost half a million dollars a year to tell Australians what they can and can’t say online.
But she wasn’t born here, and didn’t grow up here either.
She’s from Seattle, via Washington DC and Europe, which is common in her circles – Big Tech and the World Economic Forum, where she worked before becoming an internet commissar on the taxpayer dime.
She’s part of a rootless globalist elite, who see themselves as citizens of the world, put the abominable umpteenth edition of the “pride” flag before their own, and think they know better than you about everything.
This was made clear this week when Inman Grant sent a removal notice to Elon Musk’s X social media platform (that she used to work for, and now seems intent on destroying) demanding they take down a post by Canadian activist Billboard Chris.
You can read the details here, and see the post at the bottom of this article, but they are really not that important.
What matters is that this woman and her faceless mouse-clicking minions have been empowered by the Australian government to the tune of $42.5 million a year, to decide what everyone around the world is allowed to say, and by extension, think.
The “offending” post has been geoblocked for Australians – we cannot be trusted to read it, according to the eSafety Commissioner.
The mainstream media are too afraid to republish it – they too fear falling afoul of government censors.
X faces a fine of $782,500 if they don’t remove it – apparently no-one in any country can be trusted to read it.
And the reasoning behind it all? Radical gender ideology.
The post by Billboard Chris was honest and factual. Teddy Cook is a biological female. Anyone woman who cuts their breasts off (Cook’s mastectomy scars are clearly visible) and takes hormones to grow a beard needs psychiatric help.
And if any further proof was needed that Cook is a woman, what kind of man would go running to the government because he didn’t like a social media post that no-one forced him to read in the first place?
This is weak, feminine behaviour, and it’s coming from someone with immense influence – Cook sits on a WHO panel helping to write policy that will have health ramifications worldwide, is a darling in political circles in Australia, and loved by 99% the media.
But Cook can’t handle it, so therefore none of us can.
As a result we get Inman Grant trying to wield the undeserved regulatory power she has found herself with to impose far-left speech codes on the global social media ecosystem, knowing if she can force Elon Musk and X into submission, the other platforms will quickly fall into line.
1984 comparisons are tiresome and overused, but in this case Inman Grant’s deployment of the term “misgender” is worthy of an exception.
The removal notice states:
An ordinary reasonable person would conclude that it is likely that the Material [the post] is intended to cause serious harm to the Complainant [Cook]. This is because the Material misgenders the Complainant and reiterates that this point is deliberate, which is likely intended to invalidate and mock the Complainant’s gender identity.
Is there a more Orwellian modern term than “misgender”?
It’s a devious one, because by using it one implicitly accepts the premise of gender as understood by the gender ideologues. And along with others like “deadnaming” it’s alleged to be harmful even when done unintentionally, and evil when done deliberately.
Those who use it in earnest signal their loyalty to the ideology, and in doing so reinforce their own beliefs.
Orwell writes the following of the newspeak term “BLACKWHITE”:
Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to BELIEVE that black is white, and more, to KNOW that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary.
And so it is with the term “misgender”. It couldn’t fit more perfectly.
What Inman Grant and her colleagues and counterparts in every government department, think tank, university, mainstream media organisation and large corporation around the world, want is absolute control of language.
She’s one of Australia’s loudest voices condemning “misinformation” and “disinformation” – while the government is pushing for new legislation to empower a watchdog to issues millions in fines for allowing speech they don’t like.
Don’t let them win.
Don’t follow their rules, don’t use their words and don’t censor yourselves.
We don’t and never will.
