The reaction to Karmelo Anthony’s stabbing killing of Austin Metcalf is the OJ Simpson case all over again.
Your Shameful Picture from American History.

On Monday, Minister Dominique Alexander — founder of the “Next Generation Action Network” — celebrated accused black murderer Karmelo Anthony getting bailed out of jail after a black judge in Texas lowered his bond from $1 million to $250,000.
“Karmelo Anthony is SAFE at home,” Alexander wrote on X. “This moment is a reminder that a community united can never be divided. The journey ahead is long, but today—we celebrate a victory for justice, for family, and for the power of people coming together to protect our youth. Thank you to everyone who stood with us. The fight continues, but tonight, Karmelo is home.”

The money came from the over $428,000 Karmelo’s family raised by crowdfunding for their accused murderer son on GiveSendGo.
The family of a teen who fatally stabbed a 17-year-old boy in Texas plans to use his $400,000 legal defense fund to move home and hire security after facing racist threats.
Anthony, 17, was in court as he faces a first-degree murder charge for the killing of Austin Metcalf, who died in his twin brother Hunter’s arms after being stabbed in the heart at a track meet in Frisco earlier this month.
During the hearing, prosecutors asked his father Andrew Anthony why he could not use the more than $415,000 in donated funds for his son’s defense to pay the original $1million bond, which was reduced to $250,000 on Monday.
Just 10 percent of that amount must be paid, meaning Anthony will likely be free very soon.
Andrew Anthony said the fund was to be used for Anthony’s legal defense. But he also disclosed that the cash would be used for security and to help the family move after the threats they have allegedly faced since the killing.
I don’t know the specifics of the law in Texas but in most states taking a knife onto school grounds is a crime in itself.
Anthony’s alleged actions also suggest he didn’t seek to deescalate the conflict but instead challenged Metcalf to attack him so he could stab him in retaliation.
According to the arrest affidavit, one witness stated that Metcalf told Anthony he had to move his seat in the bleachers; Anthony was reportedly sitting in seats for Memorial High School students, but he was a student at Centennial High School. After being told to move, the witness told police that Anthony reached inside his bag and told Metcalf, “Touch me and see what happens.”
The witness said that Metcalf then reportedly touched Anthony, and Anthony allegedly prodded Metcalf to punch him. Metcalf then allegedly grabbed Anthony, at which point a witness told police that Anthony allegedly “stabbed Austin once in the chest and then ran away.” The alleged weapon was reportedly found in the bleachers.
When officers responded to the scene and located Anthony, the affidavit said that the teenager said without prompting, “I was protecting myself.” The affidavit also stated that as he was being cuffed, Anthony was identified as the alleged suspect by another officer, to which Anthony responded, “I’m not alleged, I did it.”
This would be an easy guilty verdict in a normal country but in the New America™ if Anthony gets the right jury makeup it’s entirely possible he could be found not guilty.
In South Carolina in 2021, Devon Dontray Dunham, who is black, was found not guilty of murder in the shooting death of unarmed white former volunteer fire chief Ernest Martin Stevens, even though he confessed to the killing (after initially lying and claiming he had nothing to do with it) and had 19 witnesses take the stand against him.

As Black Lives Matter was still going strong, Republican politicians said nothing about the case and conservative media wouldn’t even report on it.
On the flip side, Ian Cranston in Oregon, who is white, shot a black male in self-defense who attacked him on video and was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter in 2022.
In that case too, there was no outrage from Republicans and no effort to get his conviction overturned.
Conservatives are weighing in on the killing of Metcalf and coming to his defense, which is perhaps a positive (though I don’t know how they could ignore it when all their followers are talking about it) but Trump himself has said nothing.
Karmelo Anthony brutally murdered Austin Metcalf, and the support for him in the black community is growing. Murdering a white kid in cold blood seems acceptable to some. https://t.co/PckmdspROH

Though one might argue it’s best for presidents to stay out of such cases, Trump had no similar reservations when it came to condemning the McMichaels for shooting Ahmaud Arbery in self-defense.
“I saw the tape, and it’s very, very disturbing. The tape. I got to see it. It’s very disturbing,” Trump said at the time.
“Trump told ‘Fox and Friends’ he had also seen a photo of Arbery wearing a tuxedo and that he ‘looks like a really good young guy,'” ABC News noted.
Is the stabbing death of Austin Metcalf not far more disturbing? Does Metcalf not look like a really good young guy? Why the silence?
Obama had no reservations when it came to defending Trayvon Martin and trying to tip the scales against George Zimmerman.
He and Michelle also helped fan the flames of the Black Lives Matter riots.
Why are our defenders asleep at the wheel? Does anyone think Trump would have stayed out of this case if Metcalf was Jewish?
