Police warn members of the public not to approach fugitive who stabbed his gay lover to death and got away with it

New South Wales Police have made an appeal for public assistance to locate a fugitive killer, and have warned members of the public not to approach him.

Trent Jennings, 38, in 2003 stabbed his sex partner Giuseppe Vitale to death after tying him up tying him up but was found not guilty of murder because he was in a drug-induced psychosis, and was dealt with under mental health laws instead.

Then in 2013 he was jailed for two and a half years for absconding from his mental health facility and robbing a man he met on a bondage website.

Now Jennings is wanted by police again, after being last seen at a motel on The Entrance Road, The Entrance, just before 10pm on Wednesday.

The alarm was raised when he again failed to return to a mental health facility, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Police said he is wanted by virtue of an outstanding apprehension order.

“The public is urged NOT TO APPROACH this man and to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately if they see him or know of his whereabouts,” NSW Police said.

“Jennings is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with a medium build, short brown receding hair, and has a scar on his right hand.

“When last seen he was wearing a blue shirt, navy shorts, blue runners, black and gold watch, and prescription glasses. He was also carrying a black backpack and a white tackle box.

“He is known to frequent the Central Coast, Cumberland, Sydney CBD, and Sutherland Shire areas.”
